Killing for the Cure is about a young adult named Jacob who grew up with death and disappearance all around him all the way from when his mother died during his birth to when his father died during a suicide mission trying to save him. All of this happened before the apocalypse and left him alone with no one but his dog Tomo to keep him company. While Jacob is going out another fruitless day he runs into a pack of zombies bigger and stronger than usual and nearly gets eaten but is saved by a girl named Sarah and her father Thomas. Later Jacob and they encounter bigger problems than the feelings and dreams that Jacob and Sarah have but end up nearly dying as well as the whole human race if it wasn't for the deep bond of love in this book.
