HAKI IN THE SUNGOVERNMENT, church, school and all the things
they said would make us good; forget about them
set fire to stray hours of work done
and watch them burn: heads have rolled,
and heads yet may roll
but remember,
I wore khaki in the sun

memories, mud and madness, of faux wisdom

I saw on the banks of shore-less rivers; mirages
dancing lightly in the dark. in the plains, parched
and most rugged
go, tell the cobbler of my sole and the wreckage
which is now my life; of dusty prints leaving wonder
in their wake, of sanguine wishes piled
into dub
