A powerful novel targeted toward the readers of Christian fiction who are expecting something more, something to impact their lives for the better. There is a challenge within its pages for each of us... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I totally disagree with the previous review. This book is definitely not cliche. It keeps you struggling to understand the characters motives and reasoning. It is vastly different from Metzer's other book LIGHTS OF THE VEIL, but is most enjoyable. After I finished reading this book, I sat for a long time thinking about it. There are books out there that make you look at human behavior and Christianity itself from a different point of view, which is challenging and encouraging. This was such a book. I fell in love with the main male character, as he had so much that needed to be sorted out in his Christian walk, but didn't give up. He took care of and met the needs of this outcast girl, and ended up loving her. I loved the main female character as well, because I think most people can relate to her struggle in a carnal, natural sense, but even more so on a spiritual level. In the end, this book does not disappoint, but leaves you feeling changed from what you've experienced in its' pages. Some may not like it because it does not spout religion enough, but it has strong undertones of God and belief in it, it's just not soaked in it. It makes for a very fulfilling, thought-provoking read. READ IT TODAY!
In Remembrance

I was excited to find a copy that was signed by the author, as she is no longer with us, on May 14, 2003, after a fourteen year battle with cancer she went to be with her Lord and Savior. I had the wonderful privilege of meeting her in High School. She talked to my class about the process of writing and publishing a book. I recommend this book to everyone. I have read it several times and have been encouraged by different things in it every time I have read it.
Enjoyable read

I bought this book after reading "Lights of the Veil" by Patty Metzer. I really enjoyed both books. I disagree with the previous review, and believe that it demonstrated the difference God can make in a person's life. One character struggled with his Christian walk and what it means to act a Christian and the other learned to be a Christian by example and her life was greatly improved because of it. I enjoy Patty Metzer's writing style and have looked for more of her books--and have been disappointed in not finding any.
Sweet, inspirational, romantic

This book is a definite page turner. I enjoyed its late 1800s Cape Cod setting. It was a love story as well as the story of two young peoples' search for God. I would highly reccomend it.
