Have read many downsizing/decluttering books, but this book literally talked me gently through the process and I have enjoyed the process. Downsizing, for me, was often a puzzlement... How many of a specific item should I keep? With ones should I set aside to donate? Certainly, each of us might have a rough idea of perhaps how many cooking pots we might want to have around, but why store excess or perhaps why do we still keep art supplies when we have not touched them in years? Jamie, like a dear friend, gently advises us her suggestions on what to keep and what to toss out. Still, it is up to us on what we will set aside. My shelves, drawers and rooms look wonderful. Jamie's gentle suggestions were 'spot on' and much appreciated! Had fun in the midst of my downsizing/organizing to add a pretty plant to my kitchen window sill or do a few extra touches here and there. Those were special treats. Without doubt, Jamie's book gave me the instruction and motivation to continue downsizing with a big smile on my face.
