In quaint East Black Oak retired detective Candice Holladay opens her dream bookstore only to have a guest at her grand opening drop dead from a drug complication, or was it murder. Candice receives threats to stop investigating what may be going on, but having partnered with reporter Christopher, she cannot quit. A budding romance between Candice and Christopher may end before it starts as murders, money, and a criminal gang upend the tranquility of East Black Oak.
