As a child, Carlos watched the Nelson House burn. And as its walls fell to a blazing inferno, so did his childhood friend Kevin, trapped somewhere inside.

But Carlos and Kevin weren't alone that night. His future wife Jess, their wisecracking friend Duke, nebbishy Eddie and troubled Jaimie were also present for this tragedy.
