In September 2005, Los Angeles-based photographer Michael Lohr embarked on a 3-week independent goodwill mission to help rescue pets left behind in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. KatrinaReflections is a collection of photographs and first-hand experiences that took place during the weeks immediately following the storm. The images, along with accounts of heartfelt loss and unwavering humanity, paint a surprisingly poignant portrait of New Orleans during that tragic time. These photos have rarely been seen.
