Wonderful !

I love Kathy's down to earth style! The recipes that I have tried are wonderful and many have become staples in my kitchen (there is a great gravy)and I have probably tried only 1/4 of them. There are some great exotic veggies incorporated into different ethnic recipes... I think this book should be at least explored!

The Old Testament

Around my house we have called this vegetarian masterpiece the Old Testament for 15 years. It is simply the best. You Vegetarian? Trust me. Buy it and you will be a believer too.

Kathy Cooks: Vegetarian, Low-Cholestrol (Art of Dieting With

Kathy's meals are indeed low-cholestrol and vegetarian. They are also mainly low-fat, and delicious. Kathy gently takes the novice through much of the confusion of vegetarianism (and dieting)with a comfortable, "folksy" style. I followed her guidelines and lost 40 pounds, lowered my cholestrol levels, and began eating much lower-fat meals. The only reason this book was not given a 5 star rating is the difficulty in finding some of the ingredients she uses. Ms. Hoshijo also includes recipes that her children cook, again treating the reader to a glimpse of her home life. She makes a great case for going non-dairy, non-alcoholic, and no caffeine, basing it on statistics and personal health. This book should be included in all libraries of those wishing to lose weight, those who want to feel better and have more energy, and those who choose vegetarianism.
