Kansas City has a wonderful reputation as a place of unity, cooperation, and sports entertainment. As more young people flock to Kansas City for its desirable cost of living and optimal job market, the area has fostered the growth of a creative community. Throughout the city, independent boutiques and coffee shops have sprung up, and colorful murals decorate the walls of buildings. When assessing the "as-is" state of Kansas City, we find that different sectors of society need improvement. This white paper reviews the concept of Human Flourishing, explores the state of Kansas City within the lens of this concept, and offers the reader a suggested starting place to alleviate pockets of suffering in our city.
