simple genius

Genius must be made simple when anyone on any level of education is expected to gain a higher understanding and respect of the opposite sex. This is accomplished in this book by an author apparently unafraid to expose the hidden anger and obvious confusion between african-american men and women in relationships. This book is balanced by allowing "both" sides to listen to each other while expressing what we all truly want from relationships.

Truly addresses the black female-male relationship issue

I know the author personally and being that she is a beautiful woman (in AND out), I would think that she would have no issues with relationships. Her insight and that of the other people interviewed in the book gave me a good view of where other people of color stand on this blackwoman - blackman issue. The progression of the passages is very logical and many of my questions were answered by the time I finished reading the book. It is worth your while to read this book - no matter what color you are.

The paralleling "Truth"between interviewers and readers

I feel that Ms. Murchinson has captured the true and sometimes raw emotions that are express by people when asked about relationships. Ms. Murchison has gone where most of us are afraid to. Taking such a bold step to try to understand the dynamics of the relationship between Black men and women. I often found myself in the parallels of her characters life experiences, which made for self evaluation and pleasant comparisons . The obstacles in everyday life are tough enough , without adding to it a deep emotional bond with another person. Ms. Murchison provides the reader with refreshing and insightful interviews. Along with her own personal experiences made for most enjoyable reading. I totally enjoyed the book as I'm sure you will also.Highly recommended!!

Represents a fresh, honest look at relationships

Ms. Murchisons book presents relationships between men and women in an honest and thought provoking fashion. The participants in the book state their opinions without holding back and this results in a refreshing, educational read. The author allows the reader to know her intimately by discussing her personal experiences. Men and women have different perspectives when it comes to what is expected from each other in a relationship, this is one of many areas that is refreshtingly discussed in the book.

Entertaining, probing, insightful & constantly enlightening.

In this, her first book, Ms. Murchison proves herself to be an accomplished wordsmith. Her collection of interviews, and perspectives on relationships were well researched and chronicled. The "news" she brings forth regarding our relationships is not always good, but it is certain to entertain, occasionally agitate, and constantly enlighten.
