Everyone, at some point in their lives, will experience the excruciating pain of losing a person they love and embark on a journey grieving that loss. It's a part of life, yet a part that no one is fully prepared for. Even if you have theoretical knowledge or understanding of what to expect, the aftershock and recovery will likely not be what you expected. It may even feel significantly worse than the actual event itself. Death and grief are words rarely ever spoken about until you have no choice because it is staring at you right in the face. When in the throes of it, the journey feels like a lonely one, even when others around you have experienced the same loss.
Kaleidoscope is a compilation of poems written to process my grief journey, to express feelings associated with life events while on that journey and is what I would say is part of my healing process. My grief journey is not over - I don't think it ever will be. What I do know is that while I may have felt alone at times, I know that I wasn't. And if I am not alone on my grief journey, you aren't either.Related Subjects
