kakeibo budget planner: Art Of Japanese Management for Saving Money,Expense Tracker to Help You Stick to a Budget and Reach Your Savings Goals Week by Week, Personal Expense Savings Tracker

A Simple Japanese Budgeting System That'll Make You 35% Richer Kakeibo is a Japanese budgeting system that relies on using pen and paper to track your expenses. That's right. No apps, graphs, or fancy spreadsheets. The reasoning behind it? Manually tracking your money gives you a clear idea of where your paycheck is going. This simple budgeting method has allowed Japanese households to save a whopping 35% - or more - of their income each year. With stats like that, it's no wonder the kakeibo method has taken the rest of the world by storm. So let me ask you: Do you think you could save 35% of your income? You're probably shaking your head no. You can never save that much. Ever. Or can you? How to Use The Kakeibo Budget Planner: kakeibo requires you to answer these three questions: What's my monthly income? How much do I want to save? What are my monthly expenses? Step 1: What's My Monthly Income? At the beginning of the month, you'll write down what you plan to earn. If your income is irregular, then you can take a conservative estimate of the past year. To get your conservative estimate, you can either: Take a monthly average of the last 12 months or; Budget using your lowest pay stub amount Step 2: How Much Do I Want to Save? Saving money is a crucial step in the kakeibo method. Like I said earlier: It's not uncommon for Japanese households to save 35% of their income. Sound hard? Maybe. But so is everything else worth achieving. If you're not sure where to start, we recommend using the 70/20/10 rule: Spend - 70% Save - 20% Donate - 10% Step 3: What Are My Monthly Expenses? Now, this is important: If you want to save money, you have to track your daily expenses. But wait. You bought something today and it only cost a few bucks. You can put off tracking it until tomorrow, right? Nope. Serious kakeibo budgeters never put it off. Not when they're serious about saving money. Instead, they make a simple decision: They will keep a small notebook with them 24/7 to write down their daily expenses. Whenever they buy something, they write it down. Then when they get home, they add that expense to their monthly budget. No matter what. It's their birthday weekend? They track expenses. They're on vacation? They track expenses. Do they win the lottery? They track expenses. Did they get fired? They track expenses. It doesn't matter what's going on. It doesn't matter if they're happy or exhausted. It doesn't matter if they "feel like it." They track expenses. Here's an example of expense tracking using our free kakeibo template: expense tracker with kakeibo template (If you want to grab our free daily spending log then you can click here.) With kakeibo, you should group your expenses into four categories: Needs - includes your necessities like housing, utilities, and food. Wants - includes eating out, fun money, and Netflix. Culture - includes books, museum visits, and self-development training. Unexpected - things that pop up in the month that you didn't expect, like a last-minute doctor's visit. As you track your daily expenses, make sure to note which category it falls under. Now that brings us to the next subject...
