A young black family escapes the Jim Crow south in search of a better life in the City of Angels. Just as things were looking good for them, they were forced to make major adjustments in order to survive.It would take some resilience and self protection, along with the help of the community to weather the storms of sunny California, as the law on the street had taken a turn for the worse.In the mid 1980's, Los Angeles experienced a tough time when a group of rogue cops took over the streets. The community decided to fight back and protect themselves as the justice system seemed to fail its citizens.
