George Murdoch is also known as Tyrus. His other name is Brodus Clay, which he used during his time at WWE. He was born by a white mother and a black father, hence he is biracial. He was born to young parents, as Murdoch's father was 19 years old while his mother's age was 15 years at the time he was born.Due to disagreements, his parents separated when Murdoch and his brothers were very young. His mother went back to her parents with her two sons. However, the two were discriminated against for having been sired by a black father.Together with his brother, Tyrus was raised in different foster homes since they were unwelcome at their maternal grandparents' home. The incident of discrimination made Murdoch desire to have a whiter skin color.He got his education from Quartz Hill High School, an institution located in Los Angeles. He later attended Antelope Valley College towards 1992. He studied for a teaching degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He was a football player in college, but he stopped playing after surgery was conducted on him to get rid of his ruptured appendix.
