Just Jah

"Just Jah" has familiar tones of Rastafari vision of reality. But it veers more to dealing generally with issues of spirituality and its universality. Tied with those notions are those of humanity and identity. Faith and salvation are constant refrains throughout this book.
The book, through its poetry, examines man's place with respect to nature. It shows deviance throughout history, one intimately tied to deficient psychology. This mindset embraces ego at the expense of people and nature. It's a continuum throughout time, maturing into today's notions of identity. The intent is to elucidate man's existence in unconventional forms of thought. This process should lead to (or contribute to) an inflection point where mankind contemplates fundamental change.
"Just Jah", like most of Nigel Daring's previous work, tackles man at a personal level. There are several poems that fall squarely in the realm of motivation. A lot of thought therein revolves around the idea of being internally strong, resisting temptation, and defeating forces that cause pain. Nigel Daring often links these concepts with faith and spirituality.
The book recognizes a sinful world where one's moral capacity is constantly being challenged. But it also deems a transformation in world affairs possible. "Just Jah" supports the notion that changing the world for the better first begins with people getting better individuality. The idea is captured in these lines from the poem "Fight In and Out" "Before you go fighting evil out there, make sure in there is free of evil".
"Just Jah" embraces the value of true love. It sees this from the perspective of humans interacting with each other, and in terms of the relationship between man and God. Wholesome existence depends upon the strength of these bonds. "Just Jah" displays it in several poems. The book is overall a wonderful and enlightening read for people of all ages and all walks of life.
