Very helpful for a short trip to Italy

This book was small enough to carry around everywhere and helped me on several occasions. I know zero Italian but I was able to look up phrases as necessary on the fly.

Very helpful

This was a great little reference to keep in my bag during my Rome trip. I used it to figure out basic phrases, so that I can at least try to be polite when asking for something in a store or for directions. I always got a reply back in english, so I guess it was pretty obvious. :) If you look the book over a few times and associate words that you hear frequently in Italian, you really start to pick up [very] basic Italian in a week.

Almost NOT enough

Just enough Italian covers just about everything a traveler could want. It leaves you in fact wanting to know more, wanting to know how to say things not just to those you encounter in your travels, but with those you travel with. It makes you want to learn Italian more fully.

Italian traveler

I think one should make an effort to communicate effectively with those in the country where you are traveling. This book allows you to learn as little or as much as you like. I focused mainly on transportation, restaurants and shopping tips. It was very helpful and in my opinion, a necessity for the foreign traveler.

The best phrase book!

I brought several phrasebooks with me to Italy, and this one was far and away the best. Easy to use, included all the relevant phrases, and nice small size fit in my purse. I could not have gotten along without it!
