The reader will learn interesting facts about the bald eagles, including their size and abilities. The setting is authentic. The Raptor Rehabilitation Center still exists, though it has moved to a new and better facility and is now called The Alaska Raptor Center. Joey finding the injured eagle sets off a set of circumstances that change his summer plans and perhaps his life-long plan.
