JUNK is a volume of performance poetry covering the period from the late 80's to the present. Three decades ago I set-up The Performing Oscars and we performed our work in many fringe venues and pubs all over London, to bring poetry alive through performance where the poet interacted with the listeners, as opposed to simply standing reading with eyes and nose glued to the book. Although I have never stopped writing, it is only in the last year that I have found the necessary passion and drive to, once again, release my poems from their spiral notebook and allow them to dance in an audience's ears - at time of writing, in venues such as The Blue Walnut Cafe and Artizan Gallery (both spaces in Torquay, Devon). I hope the poems, whether funny or serious, make a connection with you and, even though you are reading them from the page, encourage you to imagine what they are like when they spring to life in a three dimensional arena.
