The Junior Frontiers of the Mohawk Valley is a very unique and vibrant program for predominantly inner city youth. The program focuses on the academic achievement, professional development, civic service, and self-esteem of its members. The Mohawk Valley Frontiers program is part of a national organization that started in 1933 by African-American citizens as a response to not being allowed into the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs. With assistance from ACCESS Global Group, the Mohawk Valley Frontiers International, Inc. created The Junior Frontiers of Mohawk Valley: Excellence in Education and Leadership Project to cultivate young leaders. This workbook goes beyond academic enrichment and includes a variety of modules from identity and culture to self-esteem and social justice.
