I live in the metropolitan area of Miami, Florida, which is a melting pot of diverse cultures, languages, and ethnicities. Living in the city, at any given time, you may hear a language other than English. Creole is one of the most dominating languages you will ever encounter. There is a great demand for jobs that require creole speaking. Haitians are thriving people. Haitians have become judges, doctors, lawyers, senators, teachers and dentists, just to name a few. One of the major benefits of learning two languages allows me to communicate with creole and non-creole speaking individuals, especially my family members. My assignment has been very fulfilling in bridging the gap between Americans and Haitians.
