Can Julia and Samantha have a happy ending ?

Julia is an Austrailian entertainment writer assigned to do a story on lesbian rock sensation Samantha. The sparks that fly between them confuse them both because Julia is sure she's straight and so is Sam. However, Julia finds feelings for Sam that she never felt for a man and slowly begins to realize that sex has always been ho-hum because it's been with the wrong gender. Sam is smitten immediately, trys to back off but can't. They finally get together and you think everything is fine and then Sam starts to worry about the continental divide and basically cuts and runs or rather Julia does but only after Sam's rejection. The rest of the story follows the two in different places with both trying to work out their feelings. Even till the very end you don't know if this going to be a happily ever after story or not. Will Sam finally listen to her heart instead of her head? Look for solutions instead of blockades? Can the continental divide be breatched? Read and find out.

I loved this book and it sort of reflected my life in a sense. I felt as Julia felt when I first learned of my desires. The story was very passionate, exotic, and tear jerking. I'm glad that it had an happy ending. It makes me believe that if we are patient dreams do come true.

Hopeless romantic lesbians out there will love this book!!

I read this in one sitting. I loved the characters-they were well developed and their motivations were consistent. It is a story with the right amount of tension to make you just a little bit nervous that things are going to end in a happy ending. This is my first book by this author. I will be reading more of her novels.

Julia's Song is my favorite of O'Leary's three novels - I couldn't put it down. I was completely enthralled by the story of its two unforgettable main characters - Samantha Knight, a dynamic, out American rock star touring Australia and Julia Moran, an Australian journalist covering the tour - so much, I was left wanting for more. A recurring theme in each of O'Leary's novels - including Letting Go and The Other Woman - is overcoming fear and allowing love to come into your life. This is one you'll read over and over again. You won't be disappointed in any of O'Leary's novels - especially Julia's Song.
