Rip your heart out and stomp on it

This epic tale of the life of Jesus as told by a friend will give oyu a different perspective. Yerby is an excellent author and each of his books is different, but they are all poignant, violent, honest, raw, emotional, touching, and larger than life. This book is for intellectuals or people that can at least be open-minded and get lost in a story. I would highly recommend this to certain people, but not my ultra-Christian friends because they can't handle even fictional work that contradicts the Bible and not my anti-religious friends because they can't stand to read anything with the word Jesus in it without feeling it's preachy...

Judas, a patriot in his perspective

This tale is amazing. Judas, Mary, Mary M all of the minor characters in the life of Christ are covered from their perspective in a rich and surprising fashion. This book is a fresh and before its time glimpse into the complex and extraordinary life of one of the most important figures in history. A must read, and definitely a keeper for the library.
