Judah's Destruction: My commentary on the prophetic Book of Zephaniah

My hope and prayer concerning what you read in the pages of this book will both inspire you and instruct you concerning the important Old Testament prophetic Book of Zephaniah. As Christians, we often overlook some of these smaller prophetic books of the Bible, but we shouldn't. They are historically relevant as well as being prophetically significant for us today.

The Book of Zephaniah does not only address the fall of Judah (the two southern tribes of Israel) by the Babylonians in 586 BC, but I believe it also sheds light on the future of Israel and the rest of our nations at the end of this present age.

Zephaniah predicted the day that God's wrath would bring his nation of Judah down in divine judgment. Both God's wrath and His judgments are two issues about God that many have difficulty understanding, but they were, and still are, a reality that we must accept and embrace as being Biblical truth.

I pray that what you read is beneficial to you as a Christian who desires to both understand and live what the Bible teaches us. Biblical study is more than an intellectual pursuit. It provides the necessary information about our Lord and His ways that is meant to enter our brains, and then, sink into our hearts where it will become the conviction by which we live. That is what Bible study is for me, and I hope that is what it is for you.
