His smooth style, smart driving, and deep knowledge of car mechanics set him apart. Over his career, Fangio entered 51 top-level races, won 24 of them, and stood on the podium 35 times. His win rate is still one of the highest ever. Many consider him one of the best drivers of all time. After retiring in 1958, he stayed involved with cars and business in Argentina. He passed away on July 17, 1995, at the age of 84. Today, Fangio is remembered as a legend in motor racing. A museum in his hometown honours his life, and a film about his story was released in 2020.
