This must have been a book of value in its day, with gilded edges and illustrations by Henry Sandham. The illustrations look more like engravings. Not sure what has been transferred to the copy.
After looking at Chapter 1, "The Tiger Springs", I saw that the story was about a family in the province of Coahuila. I was intrigued. I know this is a fictional story (based on true events), but I was interested in all things about the history of Coahuila.
