WONDERFULLY WRITTEN BOOK SHOWING HOW HORRIBLY THE GERMAN NAZIS TORTURED THE POLISH-CATHOLICS and JEW

Objective and very true depiction of how the Polish nation suffered so horribly: Catholics, as well as, Jews. A sad but very true depiction of what really went on. Pastore writing puts you there, in brutally Nazi-occupied Poland. You get the true feeling of what it was like, before and after the Nazis came. Poles and Jews were helplessly brutalized. Poles like Jews wondered if they would live through the day, and also had to hide and scrimp for food. Poland, unlike all the other Nazi-occupied countries was an open killing field for the Nazis. Poles, as well as Jews, were killed whenever the Nazis felt like it. Poles and their entire families were murdered instantly, for as little as handing a Jew an apple. Very few know that over 3 Million Polish-Catholics were murdered by the nazis, and that for the first two years of Auschwits,' existence, only Polish-Catholics were murdered there - mostly teachers and school children. A necessary book for all to read - Great book!

I Love it!

It's a great story about generosity, compassion, family love, and World War two. After I read it, I read all the other books in the series. I would recommend it to anyone.

A 12-year-old girl and her father flee Nazi-occupied Poland.

Even as the shadow of war hangs over Europe in the summer of 1939, twelve-year-old Aniela Kaminski and her friends in Warsaw, Poland, try to continue on with the daily routine of their lives. But soon, everything changes in terrifying ways. Without warning, German planes strike. The terrified residents of the city are often forced to huddle in basements as bombs fall overhead. Although the Polish troops fight valiantly, they are defeated by the powerful German army. The Nazis that occupy the city kill anyone that disobeys their rules, and the war has created food shortages. Aniela's Jewish friend, Edith, is forced to flee Poland with her family. Aniela's widowed father fears for the safety of his daughter in an occupied country, and arranges for the two of them to travel to neutral Sweden, where they will board a ship bound for the United States. America is a wonderful place, but even there Aniela is not free of hardship and prejudice. Can Aniela overcome the obstacles she faces in order to achieve her dreams? Journey to America is a wonderful new series that I reccomend to all fans of the popular Dear America books.
