Journey Through a Hindu Landscape

A man approaching the end of his days is offered an opportunity by Death to extend his life. He accepts and is taken on a timeless odyssey through the Hindu landscape of India where his western perceptions encounter the 3000-year old culture created by Hinduism. Towards the end of his journey he is overwhelmed by a visit to the holy city of Benares where every Hindu dreams of being cremated by the banks of the Ganges river, Mother Ganga as it is referred to. Finally, he is led to a forest where he meets the god Krishna who enlightens him as to the meaning of life. He understands finally that life is eternal and the essence of the universe is unified and indestructible.
