To profess Christianity is to repeat cliches that only those who were born into a Christian household might understand. The people of the "world" may not comprehend what it is Christians claim to be. For instance, just as with Nicodemus who had no idea what "born again" might mean, many of you have no idea as well. Christians are ignorant for the most part about the faith of their fathers. Added to that are archaic words. The English Bible, regardless of version, is somewhat dependent on the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. Although a good version, it remains a version in the words of Elizabethan English, but worse yet, modern words were not even in the vernacular of the translators. Later versions have both improved and deteriorated, the content to the point that truth is uncertain. The ancient 1611 KJV is the "father" of most English, and even foreign language, Bible. In search of a direct Hebrew to English translation, the search came up short; the English version of Jews came from the work of the KJV translators. Hence, the "Serpent" remains a snake in the Christian lexicon. This book is not the Holy Bible but an attempt to understand the truth that is hidden in translations. It attempts to remove the "telephone game" that all the many versions have wrought. The author has endeavored to cling to the original writings, down to the "jots and tittles" as Jesus referred to the ancient Hebrew. The author is neither a linguist nor a trained theologian, but he has paid attention to what God has to say. As scripture prescribes, "Prove all things, and hang onto what is good." The author has done that as much as possible. There may be mistakes in the Bible, which was even so in the "Devil's Bible" in the King James era, but the author has remained true to the doctrines of Jesus. The serious reader will be amazed at the insight found in every jot and tittle of the Hebrew aleph-bet. It is like learning the Bible from modern eyes without losing the ancient intent. The reader should find it both informative and intriguing!
