He has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the United States for wire fraud and extortion related to the whereabouts of Natalee Holloway, who disappeared in Aruba on May 30, 2005, and is charged in Peru with the first-degree murder and robbery of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ram rez, who died in the Peruvian capital Lima on May 30, 2010, exactly five years after Holloway's disappearance.
