Jones 1993

Evil never dies.

Thirty years ago, the town of Briarwood was left shattered by the gruesome murders committed by Jones Jepsen. His brutal reign of terror claimed the lives of many of the town's residents, earning him a seat in the electric chair.

But on a dark and stormy night in 1993, a malevolent force brings Jones back from the depths of hell, his hunger for blood and revenge more ravenous than ever. Jones is back, and this time, no one is safe. The same twisted mind that brought Briarwood to its knees decades ago is now driven by a burning desire for retribution against those who wronged him. Can the town of Briarwood survive the return of its most feared son, or will Jones Jepsen's thirst for blood forever haunt its streets?

It's a good slasher read

This is my second attempt at finishing this. I got halfway through before stopping the first time. Despite what made me stop reading this the first time, I really did like this book. Unlike the first book, our favorite mallet swinging baddie foregoes all the being stepped on he allowed in the first book and gets straight to blood bath in this one. And what a glorious blood bath it is. I felt there was more detailing in Jones' adventures this time around than the last one, and as morbid as it seems, it really did make for a better read between the two. I do have to wonder if Jones will find a way to tournament Briarwood in 2003, probably not, but one can hope lol My biggest issue with this book is that the ending felt very rushed. While everything else flowed in detail, the ending lacked that. There's also the inconsistency in the last scene. I can't mention details because it would be a spoiler but I can say that someone in Jones' situation in the end, wouldn't have done anything done in the last scene. I give this book 3 of 5 Paws and recommend it to those who are big on gore.
