This is a good book for young kids when they have to go to the doctor. In this book, a one-year-old boy named Jonathan has a bad cold. His parents (I named them Sherry and Rich because those are my friend Jonathan's parents' names) take him to see Dr. Peake. She looks in his ears, throat, eyes, and listens to his heart. After the checkup, Dr. Peake tells Sherry that Jonathan needs medicine. Then, Rich and Jonathan pick up the medicine. At the pharmacy, a pharmacist gives him a Get Well Bear. That night, Rich gives Jonathan some medicine. Sherry has a look on her face to Jonathan that is saying, "Jonathan, you need to take it so you can get better." The next morning, his bear has a runny nose! Sherry is saying, "Blow!" Then, at the end of the book, Jonathan is looking out the window. I reccomend this book to kids when they first see the doctor.

I think this book is good for teaching young children about visting the doctor. A one-year-old boy named Jonathan had a very bad cold. His parents take him to see Dr. Peake. She looks in his ears and eyes and mouth and listens to his heart. Eventually, she tells Jonathan's parents that Jonathan needs medicine for his cold. At the pharmacy, someone gives him a Get Well Bear as a gift. Jonathan gets healthy quickly and he gets to play now that he is well! I highly reccomend this!
Great preparation for reluctant Doctor goers!

My 2 year old daughter did not enjoy her trips to the doctor one bit. She was fascinated by Jonathan's visit to the doctor in this book. She wanted it read and re-read for more than a week. I think seeing another baby go through a doctor's visit in a positive way helped her understand and cope with the experience. On her next visit to the doctor we both made reference to the book as the doctor checked her ears, listened to her heart and chest, etc. - all things Jonathan does in the book. It was a much more pleasant experience for both of us. I would say this book was, for us, an unqualified success.
