Jonah: the man who ran from God

Jonah was called by God to preach a warning to the wicked city of Nineveh: Repent.

Instead, because he hated the people of Nineveh so much, Jonah ran away rather than show kindness to them.

Sometimes in our own lives, we don't want to do what God wants us to do. We'd rather keep doing what we like to do.

The question is: can anyone run away from God?

Jesus used the story of Jonah to show that God prepares the lessons he has taught before to bring salvation to the world.

He presented it as truth without apology or doubt.

Jonah's journey relies on miracles. Miracles are a part of who God is.

Jonah's story is about a man who ran from God, because he was afraid that God would ask him to love his enemies.

You can't outrun God's love.
