Johnny Ciao, who served as Michael Jackson's personal chef at Neverland after the Gloved One had just returned from the "Bad" tour, is a relentless name-dropper ("Whitney Houston...came up to spend the day (at Neverland) and requested fried chicken so I prepared it with a different spin") but an innovative cook of tasty, healthy, and visually appealing dishes like the "fried" Oatmeal Chicken Breasts coated in oats, blue corn flour and bread crumbs and baked. He advises serving them up with carmelized onions (page 100). Despite it's odd spelling and obsession with celebrities, the book is worth adding to your collection for recipes for black bean soup, scary carrots, fava beans, "rockin' chicken" and multiple marinades and sauces. While many of the recipes include...guess what..."Johnny Ciao's spice mixes" there is a recipe for each one of the mixes on page 136, so you don't have to buy them if you don't wanna.
