Typical for Architectural Monographs from Academy

This book, with ISBN: 0856708305 (HC), ISBN: 0312444613 (SC), and ISBN: 0856708054 (SC), presents projects of John Soane - a 19th century architect from London, who was the first to "bend" classical rules of architecture in ways considered eccentric in his day. It is profusely illustrated with beautiful photographs, renderings, sketches, and drawings assembled by G. Tillman Mellinghoff. Many of them are in color. The book was published in 1983 by Academy Editions / St. Martin's Press, measures 8-1/2" x 11-1/2" x 5/8" thick, and has 128 pages of photos and text. The text by John Summerson and David Watkin gives a comprehensive understanding of Soane's work. The Editorial Review above pertains to entirely different ISBN: 0300081952.
