John Evans: 39 Minutes

By: Chris Simmons

On Mars, every day lasts thirty-nine minutes longer.

For John Evans, those extra minutes have always belonged to the life humanity built there: measured, interconnected, and dependent upon systems no one can afford to ignore. Air, water, agriculture, power. on Mars, survival is never an abstraction.

Then John notices something that should not be possible.

Buried discrepancies. Telemetry that appears too perfect. Corporate explanations that arrive too quickly. What begins as a technical irregularity leads toward Port Alpha, powerful interests, and a hidden struggle over the infrastructure holding civilization together.

As John is drawn from the familiar rhythms of Mars toward an Earth he knows mostly through history and inheritance, he must decide whom to trust-and how much truth a society can survive. Family loyalties, political ambitions, and corporate influence converge around a discovery whose consequences extend far beyond one man or one world.

John Evans: 39 Minutes is a grounded science-fiction mystery about dependency, power, belonging, and the quiet systems that govern human life. It is the opening novel in the John Evans series, set within the larger Evansphere universe.
