Excellent book

I have read literally hundreds of fishing books and this one is the best-bar none. I have given my copy to several of my fishing buddies and all agree there is no book like this one when it comes to practical information, told in an easy to understand manner. Joe goes through it all from tuning crankbaits, to proper tackle selection, to techniques for the use of crankbaits to catch all of the "big 4"--walleyes, bass, pike and musky. This book is the best!

This is truly a terrific book for all those that love to fish and particularly for those that like to fish for big pike and big musky. Joe walks you through the process of how to be a better overall fisherman better than anybody I know. All the information is current, and it is not just filled with filler stuff just to fill it up either. He talks about lures, about the importance of color, technique, the affect of weather conditions, his past history you name it. Regarding lures he just doesn't talk about them, he tells how to fish them correctly and what has worked for him in the past. Best of all this not some self-promotion book pushing a line of lures, Joe discusses what works! After all, information from Americas leading musky expert and once guide is what we all want to hear. For the above average fisherman there are many tips and secrets sprinkled throughout the book and he shares them with the reader. He also explains why things work, which is very important.How to fish structure and weed lines is another area that Joe goes into such detail about, that no doubt it will make the difference in your catching ratio. He discusses the moon cycle and its importance, cloudy conditions, the hole nine yards.There are two books that I would recommend for pike and musky fishing and this is one of them and I have read them all! For you women not knowing what to get your guy for father's day, birthday, or Christmas you can't go wrong here, he'll love it! CATCH MORE MUSKIES!

I have been a musky, northern pike, and walleye fisherman for many years and I thought I knew how to fish a crankbait. I never imagined there could be so many more aspects that I have overlooked.
