Jill Dougherty is an American journalist and academic renowned for her expertise on Russia and the post-Soviet region. She spent three decades at CNN, serving in roles such as White House Correspondent, Foreign Affairs Correspondent, and Moscow Bureau Chief. Dougherty has reported from over 50 countries, covering significant events including the Chechen conflict, Georgia's Rose Revolution, and Ukraine's Orange Revolution. Academically, she holds a bachelor's degree in Slavic Languages and Literature from the University of Michigan and a master's degree from Georgetown University, where she researched Russia's soft power diplomacy. She has also studied at Leningrad State University in the Soviet Union.
