What A Delightful Parody and Quite Hilarious Book

Okay I have to admit a couple of things right off the bat before I get started with this review. 1. I am not Jewish. 2. I didn't actually buy this book, but I did read it. I was doing one of my normal weekly routines at one of the big chain book stores where I live, mainly going through the martial arts section looking for new releases, when I passed over the title on the spine. I actually went past it by a couple of books and then realizing that some idiot had wrote a book and misspelled jiu-jitsu I came back to it. As I reached down and picked it up, I still had some odd thoughts about the author until I looked at the cover, then I started laughing as I realized that this was a parody primarily of the Jewish traditions using jiu-jitsu as the platform from which to work from. Now I know that some of you out there are going to take this book way to seriously and whine and cry that it is making fun of Jews and stereotyping them, but I really can't see what your complaint is since it was written by two Jewish authors, one of which is apparently an actual Rabbi. So with that being said, I would suggest that you laugh right along with everyone else because this book is really quite funny. And I am sure that it is even funnier still to the Jewish people who actually know from first hand experience what the author is referring to throughout the book. After I picked up the book I proceeded to spend the next 20 to 30 minutes reading through and laughing pretty much the entire time. When I wasn't actually laughing, I was flipping to the back of the book to refer to what the authors were talking about since I really had no idea about 50+% of the time. Then I would start laughing again. I would highly recommend this book to any and all individuals of the Jewish faith as I believe it would be much easier for you to read and understand since this book parodies your religions and traditions. However, this book is very funny even if you're not Jewish and have a sense of humor. Shawn Kovacich Martial Artist/Author of the Achieving Kicking Excellence series.

crowd pleaser

I've given a few of these as gifts and just had to get a copy for myself. It's hilarious! So creative, the pictures are hysterical, and it has people who understand every word in the glossary laughing as well as my friends who've never had a latke.
