Because my people have committed a double sin: they have abandoned me, I who am a source of living water, to dig cisterns, cracked cisterns, which do not retain water.To begin with, recognize here that the cracked reservoirs mentioned in this passage reflect our bad inclinations and our bad ways on a very spiritual level Especially when it comes to finding vital solutions to our challenges. In fact, our estrangement from God is very deplorable. Our human ways are completely cracked like our tanks and wells that do not hold water. What is unfortunate is that we have much more confidence in ourselves and the world than in the Lord who saved us.Let's see what happened in the days of the prophet Jeremiah, God condemned the conduct of his people Israel for turning their back on them to serve and worship false gods. This spiritual bankruptcy made them guilty of a double sin due to the violation of laws and covenants with God on the one hand, and on the other hand, for the practice of idolatry.To be clear, the ingratitude of the Israelites was so great that God complained in the following terms. They abandoned me, I who am a living source of water, to dig cisterns, cracked cisterns that do not hold water, says the Lord. But even today, this world is also guilty of similar causes. Its inhabitants forgot their creator and became insensitive to his words despite so much good that God grants him.This perverse generation is doomed to a spiritual and religious dryness which should make us all aware of our sins and seek God to find real solutions. In short, the above-mentioned cracked wells and reservoirs represent pernicious sects and various political and occult formations on which the hope of all society rests. The true God who is an inexhaustible source of life and abundant solutions is neglected and abandoned. Some hope that these esoteric practices would be a necessary step to find answers to the evils that overwhelm us. But alas, what utopia? Our community listens much to the false words of men than to those of God our Father. Therefore, she turns her back on the solutions recommended by the Lord. To do this, all are perverted and are led astray that there is no one who does good, who seeks God.Our own solutions are outdated and cannot meet the universal expectations of emergence. Every day, we acquire weapons of mass destruction that backfire on us. Our human ways and solutions are so degrading that they contribute to our destruction and that of the environment. Faced with the various humanitarian crises of the day, the offer of world organizations does not reflect the appropriate solutions. Going back to the divine ways is the best answer yet. Armed with this divine call, we have no pleasure in persisting in stubbornness and aggravating our misfortunes. God's ways are the best, provided they are carefully guarded.
