These arrangements are prepared for "flexible" instrumentation. Each tune includes a score with melody, descant, and harmony parts for melody instruments, as well as parts for harps 1, 2, and 3. Harp 1 can be used as a solo. The music for melody, descant, and harmony is given in 3 versions: Treble I (flute range), Treble II (mandolin or C clarinet range), and Cello (bass clef). The minimum instrumentation needed for playing the tune is either one harp or a melody instrument accompanied by chords. Any number of instruments may join in.
