Jelly Beans is a collection of short stories and prose poetry that investigates growing pains and attractions in exotic far away places. The characters are loose and expressive and seemingly fearless. Though they remain eternally sensitive to the foreign attractions that plague and elevate their daily existence. Constantly pushing for a freedom and solace that is ultimately allusive, their attempts are passionate and comical, obessive yet campy, plowing from one chronic situation to another, enslaved by their own expectations and alternative ambitions that spring dreams and inherent ruin.
Written in a transcendental realism style, Jelly Beans is a short jaunt into tropical exoticism, hard realisms, and hormonal ambitions. One never knows what lays outside the front door, and our appetite for action is often insatiable.
