In my twenties, I discovered and devoured F. Scott Fitzgerald's books set in the Roaring Twenties aka The Jazz Age. I loved the fashions, the fun, the music, but most of all the changes occurring in female psyches...a spirit of independence, self-assurance and a refusal to continue being considered the less important and viable gender. They set the ball rolling for many wonderful things to come for all women. Our mothers and grandmothers were brazen, courageous, forward thinking, undaunted by the previous generation's limitations, and for these foundation blocks we owe them much gratitude.
