JavaBeans by example emphasizes Java development w/VisualAge
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 27 years ago
This book covers virtually all aspects of the Javabeans API. It gives very well developed examples for the building blocks of the Javabeans API such as events, properties, introspection, property editors and more. The book also discusses internationalization, distribution and RMI, persistency, security, and printing. Integrated development environments are discussed. As the book is a joint venture between Prentice-Hall and IBM, special attention is given to IBM's VisualAge for Java IDE. An entry level version of VisualAge for Java is included on a CD that accompanies this text. (Note that this version is freely available from IBM's website -- you don't have to purchase the book to download it). Notably missing from the CD included with this book are interchange files for use in VisualAge for Java which the authors could have used to record Visual builder information they develop in the course of the text. However, the wealth of information given in the book and CD is very useful, and will be of singular interest to VisualAge for Java users. Others will find it an interesting and useful source of information. It makes an excellent companion for another title -- Developing Java Beans -- by Oreilly publishing.
