A must buy book for Java Certification

This is one of the best books that I ever found for java certification. I gave exam today and passed it on first attempt. Author has done great work in organizing language concepts. The practice tests at the end of the book are excellent. Great book Barry !!!

A must-read for anyone taking the JDK 1.1 certification

I passed the programmer test on the first try, thanks to this book! My only sources of information where this book and the API documentation itself.Start from zero Java knowledge, put in a few hours of study and practice every day for two or three months, and do all the exercises and practice tests in the book. Don't hurry. Be sure to completely understand the concepts before moving to the next chapter.Yes, there are a few errors in the book and in the practice exams. You must go to the author's homepage to get the corrections.The book deserves five-star rating, though I think it should have covered more thoroughly the IO classes. Thorough, Clear, Concise coverage of certification

I used this book to study for the Programmers exam and passed it on the first time. I was quite impressed with how clearly he describes concepts. There are some typo errors which mostly crop up in the sample exam questions. I also thought the sample exam questions were a good deal easier than the actual exam questions. With that said, this is a must have if you plan on becoming Java Certified.

It is an excellent book.

I just passed the CJP 1.1 and would pay a large credit to this book. I also found it very handy to use hand in hand with JDK API Doc. The typos and errata are minor, which did not bother me a bit, in comparison to what it contributed to my goal.

Best buy for Java 1.1 Certification!!!

This book is one of the excellent books for Java 1.1 certification. The two practice exams are a very close reflection of the actual Sun exams and doing these two practice exams does build up a lot of confidence. The tricky stuff used to trip the candidates in the Sun certification are covered very well in this book. The accompanying CD-ROM contains neatly arranged java code - code used in the book and the answer to the exercises at the end of each chapter. I could run these on my PC and play with the code to improve my understanding of Java.I took up this book during the last week for my preparition for Sun certified Java Programmer 1.1 and was glad for doing it as it focussed me on the exams and I passed the exams with good score.
