It's been twenty years since the horrible incident that changed the lives of Taj and Cheyenne--but there is still hope that they can free themselves from the memories and feelings that haunt them and bound them together. Imagine you are in New York City two weeks before Christmas. Snow covers the ground and lights twinkle along the streets as warmly dressed shoppers brave the elements. An aging church beckons you with its open doors, and the sweet songs from carolers assail your senses. As you move closer and join in with the singing, you suddenly hear a voice whispering a phrase that you haven't heard in ages. You turn slowly as the color drains from your face, and you find yourself facing him, the person you haven't seen in twenty years. Thus begins Jasminium, a novel that introduces Taj and Cheyenne. They were young when they met, but a horrific experience robbed them of their innocence. Seeing each other again brings back haunting memories and feelings of passion that have lain dormant, just below the surface, and seemingly out of reach. Jasminium explores the path taken by these two people as they attempt to free themselves from the ghosts of their pasts and reconnect with the feelings and emotions that have bound them inexplicitly together.
Jasminium is a beautifully written book. The moment I begin reading, I was captured into the book and characters. Reading it in one day. I literally did not want to put the book down. From the beginning to the end, J. Luckett has you feeling and emotionally identifying with what's happening. You'll want to take sides and throw caution to the wind. The ending is so masterfully done and shocking. It was just great. You look forward to a sequel.
haunting yet hopeful!

i was a little nervous about the novel after reading the synopsis-- i worried that it would be too heavy for my fragile, summer vacation mind set. but i took the plunge, and it paid off! luckett is skillful and intelligent with his use of language in telling this haunting yet hopeful story of a tragedy, a reunion, and an opportunity to explore the "what if" behind a relationship that was forged in an impossible situation. i was somehow able to condone the (inevitable) union of the two main characters, so much so that i was actually pushing for it toward the end of the book. and i still can't get the image of the villain (what was his problem exactly??!!) out of my mind. that jamaican accent-- very haunting; yet, the story is somehow hopeful, and i was glad to know that two people could go back and "finish business" and still return to their everyday lives and responsibilities. luckett is a skillful scribe! Jonathan Luckett should be commended for his storytelling abilities, because Jasminium is unlike any novel that you will ever read. Be prepared to read this novel in its entirety, because you will not be able to put it down! Love is . . . Taj and Cheyenne.

This book is one of the best novels I have ever read! Jasminium is absolutely amazing! I love Jonathan Luckett?s writing style. He does a truly great job of building up the suspense of the characters---going back into time at just the right moments, then forward into the lives of Cheyenne and Taj. It was wonderful how everything connected so well in the novel. I also loved how this book truly had me on an emotional roller coaster ride. My emotions went from hatred of Seifu, to delightful ecstasy as the lexis of love and emotion between Cheyenne and Taj came alive on the pages before me to the point where I could feel the sensual connection between Cheyenne and Taj. Moreover, I can?t wait to start reading more from this author?keep it coming?I truly feel that this book should be made into a movie and that Jonathan Luckett is an extraordinary author, and his writings will go down in history as legendary pieces of work?mark my words.
