Jane's Crisis Communications Handbook is a winner

While a bit pricy for its size, this book is a winner. Whether you're just starting out, or are an experienced Public Information Officer, this book is packed with down to earth advice on how to "get it done". There are lists and templates, things to do and things to avoid, little pointers like, most TV stations use blue backgrounds, that will help you do it right the first time out. This is pure technical stuff, no philosophy, no politics. I highly recommend it.

Practical, Practical and Practical

My copy of this portable little reference is dog-eared, worn and well used. It contains practical information written by practical people and is a practical size (15cm x 11cm) for those of us continually on the move. A good little tool.

Jane's Communications Handbook

This book is great for those who have the need to interact with the media. It has great examples and checklists to prepare yourself for situations that you may have network with the media. I recommend this book for those who may also have the need to write a media policy (this book has great insight to preparing for this via examples).
