Resurrection is Part 2 to the Jake Icy prequels, which take place before the Angel Hunters series. It deals with Jake and how such a polarizing figure was even turned into a vampire in the first place. Due to his rowdy antics and thuggish tactics, he made an enemy out of a high-ranking vampire named, William Chosen. In the Angel Hunters series, the two had already overcome quite a few obstacles, leading to an odd friendship/business association. These 2 prequels shed some light, probably not enough, on a few of those obstacles. There're other... more nefarious forces at play, but that will be discussed at a more appropriate hour. Resurrection is a glimpse into the odd and edgy world of urban vampires. They have an intricate culture. And like any other overly complicated culture, you can't just storm in and try to take over like a boss! Jake is basically trying to do just that. The only problem is he has no idea what he's dealing with. He was warned constantly by his girlfriend, but the dude is hardhead, and loves to learn the hard way. The story introduces other lesser-known elements in the Angel Hunters universe, like Jake and his ruthless "Blood Gang" criminal enterprise. Icy got it out the mud, on some bloody murder ish. Now his gang the #1 moneymaker in the streets! They went from controlling a couple blocks to having the hold thang on lock. Sadly, the saying holds true: "There's always someone, bigger and badder." Jake and his ruthless gang of bloodhounds ran headlong into vampiric high society. He got himself tangled up in a web he wasn't ready for. And unfortunately, there's no way to turn back. Once you become a vampire, you're blood in for life. There is however another way... but that will all be explained at a more appropriate time. Now, it is the witching hour. It is time for those who have sinned to reap what they've sown. The seven seals will be broken soon enough and those who value things that cannot be carried into Heaven will pay dearly.
