Jack is an all-black kitten with the brave heart of a panther. Born in a New York City blizzard, he is taken to an animal shelter where he is the last of his litter to be adopted. Comforted by a rainbow toy given to him at the shelter, his hopes are answered when he is adopted by an adventurous young woman, who becomes his Mama B. His first home is a small apartment in New York City before B takes him across the ocean to live in a city apartment in London. Jack finds adventures wherever he goes, and together Mama B and Jack find their forever home in San Francisco. Happy but not quite complete, Jack helps his Mama B find the perfect Daddy D for him.
