Spy vs. spy

Young Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) finds that his background qualifies him to detect and thwart a terrorist plot against the U.S. (actually world) economy. Directed by Kenneth Branagh Estimated budget $60,000,000 This is a fun formula movie. You can predict the conflict and outcome. The fun is watching the details unfold. The people who will like this are people who like standard espionage and counter-espionage movies with sneaking actions and chance scenes. The people who will not like this film want something unique or have a vendetta against certain actors. I found it fun to watch as a standalone film without trying to compare the characters or plot with any certain book or previous movie. The actors did not outshine the characters they played. The background music did not drown out the actors' voices. Not a lot of hokie CGI. Looking forward to the next installment
