From The New York Times bestselling author Lee Child comes one of the most compelling heroes to step from novel to screen - ex-military investigator Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise).
One of the best of the genre. Most of the time, it is someone who is wronged and uses ridiculous skills and abilities to wipe out the perpetrators and save the damsel in distress.
Looks like a sniper who always wanted to dispatch random people has finally done it. Yep, all the evidence is there. When it comes to signing the confession, there is a hitch as he writes “Get Jack Reacher”. Now the movie really begins. Things look too cut and dry, so the mysterious missing Jack (Tom Cruise) teams up with the sniper’s defense attorney (Rosamund Pike) to see if they can figure this out, and they open a hornet’s nest.
This time, it is a tad more complex, and you get to know the people. Well, it does have the obligatory car chases and shoot-um-ups. But no nudity or excessive potty mouth. You get to kibitz now and then, as you know what they don’t.
Be sure to watch, then watch with the voice-over commentaries, then watch again.
For the book readers, Tom Cruise is not the physical Jack we know, but the story fits well.
